Spent the afternoon Sunday hiking along the Colorado River near Nelson Overlook and grabbed some video of the shoreline and surroundings. Strong winds accompanied me throughout the walk making the river look like it was flowing backwards.
I took advantage of my free day Monday to cruise the Lake Mead area and shoot some video. This short piece show some of the landscape along Lake Mead's Northshore Road. The oasis-like red rock sandstone formations that litter this area are pretty amazing. En route to this spot are areas of desert that would make you wonder if you were on Mars, with charcoal black rocks strewn about fields of bright orange-red sand. In fact it was those Mars rocks that jarred me into remembering I had a new video camera with me and, gee, perhaps I should try using it.
